Orangeville residents have the opportunity to hear about upcoming road construction, safety enforcement, and town growth at a quarterly town hall meeting on April 28, 2026. The event will run from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Tony Rose Banquet Hall, located at 6 Northmen Way.
Mayor Lisa Post, who is also serving as the 2026 Warden of Dufferin County, will host the meeting alongside Councillors Debbie Sherwood and Rick Stevens. The session is designed to provide residents with updates on key community matters and allow for direct interaction with town officials and police.
Presentations at the meeting will focus on three main areas. Dufferin Ontario Provincial Police representatives will discuss summer road safety initiatives, following a period of heightened enforcement in the region. Recent police activity has included 260 charges laid during the Easter long weekend and ongoing efforts to address speeding, such as a recent incident on April 19 where 11 charges were issued to a driver on Airport Road.
Staff from the Town of Orangeville Economic Development department will also provide insights on managing tourism and population growth. As the county expects its population to grow from approximately 66,000 to 95,000 by 2051, town officials are working to balance these pressures with a five-year tourism strategy aimed at building the local visitor experience.
Finally, updates on current infrastructure projects will be provided by Infrastructure Services staff. Active work in the town includes the reconstruction of Dufferin Street between Ontario Street and John Street, the Hansen Boulevard connection, and the construction of a new fire station on Commerce Road. Additionally, rehabilitation work for the stormwater management facility at Young Court is expected to take place this summer.
