Residents of Cornwall now have a new destination for frozen treats with the official opening of a Baskin-Robbins location on April 23, 2026. The shop, located at 61 Ninth Street East at the corner of Ninth and Sydney, brings the internationally recognized ice cream brand to the city of over 54,000 people.
Manager Jay Patel said the shop is offering a variety of treats including classic favourites, rotating seasonal flavours, ice cream cakes, sundaes, and specialty beverages. The team is focused on providing a welcoming space for the local community, emphasizing friendly service and quality products.
Baskin-Robbins, which is owned by Inspire Brands, was founded in 1945 with a concept centered on offering 31 flavours, allowing for one different choice for every day of the month. The brand currently operates nearly 8,000 stores across 50 countries. In addition to the new storefront, the company partnered with Nestlé in February 2026 to make select signature ice creams available in major grocery retailers across Canada.
The arrival of the new business comes during a period of leadership transition at the Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce. Eric Tremblay recently took over as president of the organization, succeeding Cristian Urroz, who led the non-profit group for the previous four years. The Chamber represents over 500 businesses in the region and is funded through membership fees, events, and sponsorship.
