Residents of the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville are invited to attend a community shopping event (Ladies’ night) on May 6, 2026, to help support neighbours facing food insecurity. The Ladies’ Night event takes place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with all proceeds from ticket sales going to the Whitchurch-Stouffville Food Bank.
Tickets for the evening are $10 and include a drink and snacks. Attendees will also have access to exclusive store deals, giveaways, a photo booth, and live music. The event encourages local shopping while raising essential funds for the food bank, which has been providing assistance in the community since 1990.
The food bank, a 100 per cent volunteer-run organization located at 86 Ringwood Drive, has faced rising demand in recent years. In 2024, the service reported an average 22% monthly increase in client visits compared to the previous year. According to York Region Public Health, food insecurity remains a significant issue that affects the physical and mental health of many low-income households.
This gathering is the latest in a series of annual events supported by the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville and local business leaders, including the Whitchurch-Stouffville Chamber of Commerce. These efforts are part of a larger push to foster downtown as a cultural hub, supported by funding from the My Main Street Community Activator program. Residents interested in participating can find more information through Discover Stouffville.
