The Alberni Valley Minor Hockey Association is inviting local families and volunteers to its annual general meeting on May 27, 2026. The gathering will take place in the upstairs area of the Alberni Valley Multiplex, located at 3737 Roger St. in Port Alberni, British Columbia.
This event marks a return to an in-person meeting format following a virtual session held last year. Doors to the meeting will open at 6:30 p.m., with a mandatory sign-in process that closes at 6:45 p.m. Organizers noted that no attendees will be admitted after 7:00 p.m.
The association, led by President Tasha Frechette, is looking to fill several vacant leadership positions during the meeting. Roles up for election include the vice president, second vice president, registrar, secretary/admin, and three director at large positions. The executive committee is encouraging members to attend to help fill these gaps and participate in the future direction of the organization.
The meeting coincides with the recently opened registration period for the 2026/2027 season, which began on April 30, 2026. Families can now sign up players for the upcoming season across all age categories, ranging from U7 through U21.
