As of 4:00 AM CDT on Tuesday, May 5, conditions at the airport showed light snow and a temperature of -6.4°C, with winds making it feel like -15°C. The forecast calls for daily highs between -3°C and -2°C, while overnight lows will drop to -7°C.
Strong north winds of 30 to 40 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 60 km/h, will drive wind chill values down to -17°C during the overnight hours and into Wednesday morning. While these conditions are cold, there are no active weather alerts for the area, as they remain above the extreme cold warning threshold for the Kivalliq Region.
