Downtown Orangeville is set to host a dual celebration on Saturday, May 9, 2026, as the Orangeville Business Improvement Area launches the 35th season of the Orangeville Farmers’ Market alongside the annual Clean Sweep Sales Event. Residents are invited to explore the outdoor market and take advantage of one-day promotions at local shops, creating an opportunity for community members to browse for Mother’s Day gifts in the heart of town.
The farmers’ market will run from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Second Street at Broadway, directly in front of Town Hall at 87 Broadway. According to Alison Scheel, executive director of the business improvement area, the opening day festivities will include live music, a magic show, a petting zoo, and free face painting. The event also features free bucket truck rides provided by Orangeville Hydro, with additional support from sponsor Seablox.ca. For those arriving on two wheels, Cycling Elements will offer a bike lock-up service behind Town Hall.
Shoppers visiting the downtown core can participate in the Clean Sweep Sales Event, which features exclusive discounts at various retailers. Participating businesses include A Touch of Class by Mags, offering 30% off furniture; Once Loved Thrift Store, providing 25% off storewide; and Seconds Count, offering 10% off the entire store.
This season, the Orangeville Farmers’ Market is welcoming several new vendors, including Queen Gypsy, featuring Eastern European pastries; Lucy’s British Afternoon Teas; Little Clay Bites, known for pet-themed trinkets; and Chapman Honey. The market is scheduled to operate rain or shine every Saturday until October 17, 2026.
