According to Environment Canada, local weather on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, is expected to remain cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a risk of a thunderstorm near noon. The high for the day is expected to reach 16°C, which sits below the typical seasonal high of 18°C.
While this week brings variable spring weather, longer-term forecasts suggest a warming trend is on the horizon. Data indicates a 40 to 60 per cent chance of above-normal temperatures across southern Ontario for the period between May and July.
As residents enjoy the milder weather, the Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority has issued a statement regarding elevated water levels in Lake Ontario. Current measurements show the lake is at 75.34 metres above sea level, which is 33 centimetres higher than the long-term average for May.
The conservation authority warns that these levels create a heightened risk of shoreline flooding, beach submersion, and wave-driven erosion. This alert remains in effect through May 29, 2026, and community members are encouraged to exercise caution while visiting the waterfront.
