Job seekers in Cornwall will have the chance to meet with local employers face-to-face during a community job fair on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. Hosted by Job Zone d’emploi, the event runs from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at their offices located at 144 Pitt Street in downtown Cornwall.
The job fair serves as an opportunity for residents to explore new career paths, ask questions, and network directly with hiring businesses. Kim Arbic, Director of Community Relations for Job Zone d’emploi, notes that this type of direct interaction is a valuable step for anyone currently searching for work or considering a career change. Additional information regarding the fair is available through Choose Cornwall.
Job Zone d’emploi has provided bilingual employment services, including career counselling and resume assistance, to the Cornwall, Stormont, and Dundas area since 1985. Previous job fairs organized by the group have drawn between 300 and 400 attendees. During these events, employers have conducted on-the-spot interviews to fill available positions.
This upcoming fair arrives as the region manages shifts in the local labour market. According to the 2026 Local Labour Market Plan, the region has seen a net migration increase of 9,171 residents, while unemployment in the broader Ottawa economic region has risen to 6.4 percent since 2024.
Job seekers looking for further resources can also connect with the Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce, a non-profit organization established in 1890 that represents over 500 businesses in the area.
