Residents in Whitchurch-Stouffville are invited to get an up-close look at the vehicles that keep the community running during a public open house on May 23, 2026. The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville is hosting the event at the Operations Centre, located at 5061 Bethesda Side Rd, from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.
The family-friendly gathering features a Touch-a-Truck activity, where children can explore municipal vehicles and learn about local infrastructure. The event provides a hands-on opportunity for the public to see the equipment used daily by the town’s Transportation and Fleet Services and Environmental Services divisions.
This open house is held in recognition of the 66th annual National Public Works Week, which runs from May 17 to May 23, 2026. Sponsored by the Canadian/American Public Works Association, the week highlights the essential role of public works staff with this year’s theme, “Rooted in Service, Powered by Community.”
Jack Graziosi, the Commissioner of Engineering and Public Works, oversees the departments operating out of the facility. The event is part of a wider effort across Ontario to engage residents and help younger community members better understand the services that support their town.
