The Brantford Police Service has arrested a 48-year-old man from Hamilton in connection with a shooting that took place at a local motel earlier this year. The arrest occurred on May 13, 2026, following a police investigation into the incident on March 13, 2026.
The shooting took place at approximately 12:30 a.m. at a motel at Colborne Street and Locks Road. According to police, two suspects arrived at the location, where one person discharged a firearm in the parking lot before both individuals fled in a blue four-door GMC pickup truck. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
On May 13, 2026, police executed a search warrant at a home on Allan Avenue in Hamilton. The operation involved several units, including the emergency response team and the drug and firearm enforcement unit. During the search, officers seized 95.7 grams of cocaine and 26.7 grams of fentanyl, alongside a 9mm round and Canadian currency. The total street value of the drugs seized is estimated at $12,240.
The 48-year-old man faces six charges, including discharging a restricted firearm with intent, assault with a weapon, pointing a firearm, and possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order. He also faces charges related to drug trafficking. He was held for a bail hearing following his arrest.
A second suspect remains at large. She is described as a white female with dark, shoulder-length hair. At the time of the incident, she was wearing a black low-cut top or jacket, jeans with tearing on the thighs, and knee-length black heeled boots.
