The Town of Bracebridge has launched a new online public survey asking residents, riders, local businesses, and visitors to share their feedback on the future of local transit service. The survey, which opened on May 20, 2026, is available for public input until Friday, June 12, 2026, to help guide future planning and service improvements.
As Bracebridge Transit celebrates its 10th year of operation, the town is looking for community input on current transit use, potential barriers to riding, service priorities, and ideas for future enhancements. In 2025 alone, the transit system recorded over 29,000 passenger rides.
The current transit service, which has been fully operated by the local, family-owned company Hammond Transportation Ltd. since September 2023, runs from Monday through Saturday. The system operates on a one-hour round-trip route through the town’s urban core, serving 40 stops at key locations, including the Muskoka Lumber Community Centre and the Bracebridge Sportsplex.
In addition to standard transit, the town provides Bracebridge Mobility, a specialized, on-demand, door-to-door service available through an application process for residents with mobility difficulties. This service is also managed by Hammond Transportation Ltd.
This public consultation follows the town’s adoption of its first Transportation Master Plan in November 2023. Developed alongside the District Municipality of Muskoka, that long-range document outlines transportation priorities for the community through 2044.
