Pride Durham and the Town of Ajax are inviting families to a free, all-ages Pride celebration on Saturday, June 6, 2026. Things will kick off with a Drag Queen Storytime at the Ajax Public Library’s Audley Branch, at 10:30 a.m. The morning event is designed to be family-friendly, with stories that focus on diversity and inclusion, followed by crafts, sweet treats, and other activities for everyone.
The Drag Queen Storytime is presented in partnership with Youth Pride Durham and the Durham Children Aid Society. It is part of a larger series of storytime sessions that have been running for seven years in libraries across all eight municipalities in Durham Region.
After the storytime, the Pride celebration will continue at the Ajax Community Centre at 75 Centennial Road. A parade is set for 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., followed by a vendors market from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and a drag show from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Families who attend the morning event can also take part in the afternoon festivities. No registration is required for the storytime, and all parts of the day are free and open to all ages.
