The two-storey indoor playground at the Niverville Community Resource & Recreation Centre will close for nearly three weeks starting June 1, 2026, for deep cleaning and repairs. The closure runs through June 19, leaving parents with young children looking for other places to play.
The Town of Niverville posted the notice on its recreation website May 25. Crews will use the 19-day shutdown for scheduled maintenance, deep cleaning and repairs to the popular play structure, which includes slides, tunnels, climbing features and a jungle gym.
Normally, the playground is open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the CRRC, a facility that opened in July 2021 and also houses an arena, running track and childcare services. The playground requires socks for entry and can hold up to 60 people.
During the closure, town officials suggest families visit local parks and outdoor playgrounds. Hespeler Park, the community’s largest at 91 acres, has multiple playgrounds, sports fields and a splash pad. The splash pad is expected to open in early June, giving families a water-play option while the indoor playground is unavailable.
The indoor playground is expected to reopen to the public on June 20. Note that the facility’s summer-hours transition includes reduced hours on June 12 and a full closure on June 13, though those dates are already covered by the June 1–19 maintenance shutdown.
