Aurora, Ontario residents can put on their sunglasses and enjoy sunny skies this week, as temperatures are expected to climb into the high twenties, according to Environment Canada.
The official forecast shows clear, sunny conditions Tuesday through Thursday, with daytime highs rising from 21°C on Tuesday to 27°C by Thursday. The Weather Network suggests Thursday could even reach 28°C.
No weather alerts are in effect for the area, making for a straightforward stretch of pleasant early-summer weather. Tuesday will be the coolest of the sunny days, but also brings the week’s highest ultraviolet index, rated 8 or very high. Environment Canada urges anyone outside to seek shade, wear a hat and sunglasses, and apply sunscreen, especially between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Conditions are expected to shift on Friday, when a mix of sun and cloud moves in and the chance of showers reaches 30 per cent. Environment Canada expects a high of 26°C, though The Weather Network notes humidity could make Friday’s high of 28°C feel more like 31°C, with rainfall of a few millimetres possible by evening. Overnight lows throughout the work week will range from 7°C to 15°C.
Summer conditions are arriving right on schedule for Aurora, where the typical early-June high is 22°C. Sunrise this week is around 5:38 a.m., with sunset not until nearly 8:55 p.m., giving residents plenty of daylight to enjoy the warmth before any weekend rain arrives.
