Regina’s Globe Theatre is looking for fresh faces to join its board of directors as Canada’s only permanent theatre-in-the-round wraps up a massive redevelopment of its home at MacCorquodale Place. The theatre society announced the recruitment drive on its website, calling it an exciting new phase as the organization nears completion of the $42-million renovation project that has transformed the historic building.
The theatre is seeking candidates with experience in areas like financial management, capital projects, legal expertise, and fundraising. A strong commitment to diversity and inclusion is also part of the call, with the theatre encouraging Indigenous applicants. The current board has 14 members, chaired by Wes Pearce.
This push for new board members comes as the theatre gears up for a busy summer. Its production of Arsenic and Old Lace runs from June 3 to 21, 2026. Looking ahead, the 2026/2027 season lineup includes well-known shows like Les Misérables, Mosque Heist, and Inner Elder by Michelle Thrush.
The renovation of the former Prince Edward Building, a heritage site on Scarth Street, took more than four years and cost significantly more than the original $29-million estimate. A $3-million donation from local entrepreneurs Andrew and Chantel MacCorquodale led to the building being renamed in their honour. The theatre reopened in November 2024, but some final work is still being completed as the organization marks its 60th anniversary this year.
