Niverville’s recycling collection is set to stay with Bristal Hauling for five more years, following a recommendation from town council’s Ways & Means Committee on May 12, 2026. The recommendation, pending final approval by council, means residents will see no changes to their familiar Tuesday and Thursday blue and green zone pickup schedule.
The Town of Niverville council’s Ways & Means Committee voted to extend the contract with the local, family-owned company that has handled recycling since 2017. Bristal Hauling, operating since 2002 and located right in Niverville, stepped in after Eastman Recycling Services shut down, a closure that created a crisis for the town’s recycling program and led to months of negotiation involving the local Chamber of Commerce.
For single-family households, curbside collection will continue using the 64-gallon garbage carts and 96-gallon recycling carts already in use. Homes west of 5th Avenue fall into the Blue collection zone, while those east are in the Green zone.
According to the Ways and Means Committee minutes, the five-year extension continues a relationship that has become a stable part of waste services in the community. Details of the contract value were not included in the recommendation.
Residents can also drop off waste and recycling at Bristal Hauling‘s transfer station at 41135 6th Ave North on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon. The site is a designated drop-off for battery recycling through the Call2Recycle program.
