The Rotary Club of Ajax is bringing back its biggest fundraiser of the year, Ribfest, from June 5 to 7 at Ajax Downs Casino at 50 Alexander’s Crossing. The three-day event is free to attend and raises money for hundreds of local groups and organizations across Ajax and beyond.
Six of the most popular professional rib teams will be on site, including Uncle Sams, Billy Bones, Camp 31, Boss Hogs, Sneaky Petes and Blazin BBQ. With more than 30 food and craft vendors spread across the grounds, there will be plenty of options beyond ribs, plus beverages from local breweries like Brock Street Brewery.
Live music is scheduled throughout the weekend, and families can look forward to a kids carnival and up-close reptile displays by Reptilia. The event runs Friday from noon to 10 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Donations will be accepted at the gate.
For nearly 70 years, volunteers with the Rotary Club of Ajax have donated more than $1 million to hundreds of local causes, funding everything from hospital equipment and youth programs to food security initiatives. The 2024 Ribfest drew more than 35,000 visitors, making it one of the town’s largest community gatherings.
