Cochrane, Ontario is in for a bright and unusually warm start to the week, with Environment Canada forecasting a high of 29°C on Monday, June 8, 2026. That’s about 8 degrees above the normal high of 21°C for early June, and with the humidity it will feel more like 31.
At 1:00 p.m., conditions at the Timmins Victor Power Airport were already mainly sunny and 26.9°C, with a humidex of 28. The sky is expected to stay clear right through the night, with a low of 13°C. No weather alerts are in place for the area.
Environment Canada has the UV index sitting at 8, which it rates as very high. People heading outside are being reminded to limit time in the sun between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., throw on some UV-blocking sunglasses, find shade when possible, and keep sunscreen handy for reapplication every couple of hours or after a swim.
The warmth isn’t sticking around all week, though. Tuesday will see some clouds roll in during the morning, followed by a 60 percent chance of showers in the afternoon and a slightly cooler high of 23°C. The UV index jumps to 9, still in the very high range. Temperatures rebound mid-week, reaching 29°C Wednesday and 30°C Thursday, before a stretch of unsettled weather drops the high to 21°C by Saturday, June 13.
According to The Weather Network, this hot start lines up with its 2026 summer outlook for northern Ontario, which predicts an earlier and stronger warm signal than what southern parts of the province will see.
