The City of Pitt Meadows is asking residents to share their thoughts on the 85th annual Pitt Meadows Day, which brought crowds to Pitt Meadows Athletic Park on Saturday, June 6, 2026. An online survey is now open at haveyoursaypittmeadows.ca until Sunday, June 14 at 11:59 p.m. PST, with hard copies available at City Hall. Those who complete the survey can enter a draw to win a $100 Hopcott Gift Card.
The free family celebration featured the Lions Club Pancake Breakfast, a noon parade with the traditional community water fight, an artisan and exhibitor market, live entertainment, food trucks, free family ice skating, a Kids Zone, a beverage garden, and a drone light show at 9:30 p.m. This year’s theme was Blue & Gold to mark the 85th anniversary of a tradition that began in 1937 as a May Day celebration.
“As we mark the 85th anniversary of this beloved event, we honour generations of volunteers, organizers, staff, partners and community members who have helped shape this tradition,” said Mayor Nicole MacDonald. The event has only been cancelled once since 1952—during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020—and has since returned stronger, with last year’s parade drawing an estimated 12,500 spectators.
The survey is the latest in a series of post-event feedback campaigns the city has run in recent years to improve Pitt Meadows Day. In 2024, the celebration moved to Pitt Meadows Athletic Park and introduced the drone show, replacing traditional fireworks. Residents have until June 14 to make their voices heard, with one entry per person qualifying for the prize draw. No purchase is necessary, and odds of winning depend on the number of entries received.
Hopcott Farms, the business providing the gift card, has been a local fixture since 1932. The third-generation family farm and butcher shop is a familiar name in Pitt Meadows. The city encourages everyone who attended Pitt Meadows Day to take a few minutes and complete the survey to help shape future celebrations.
