Stratford, Ontario, is seeing mostly cloudy skies and a chance of showers to start the week, but Environment Canada says sunnier and warmer days are on the way. As of Monday afternoon, the temperature sat at 18.5°C with 83% humidity, but no weather alerts are in effect for the area.
The Environment Canada forecast calls for today’s 30% chance of showers to diminish by this afternoon, giving way to a mainly sunny Tuesday with a high of 25°C. The humidex Tuesday is expected to reach 26, making it feel a bit warmer outside.
Wednesday will be the warmest day of the week at 26°C, though there is a 30 per cent chance of showers. Thursday brings a higher chance of rain or thunderstorms at 60 per cent, with a high of 24°C. The weekend looks more settled, with a mix of sun and cloud and temperatures ranging from 23°C to 26°C.
The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority confirmed Monday that the watershed is at a normal flood status, with no flood bulletins in effect. While Stratford has a history of flooding, including the devastating 1937 flood that washed out the dam in the city centre and caused five deaths across the Thames River watershed, current conditions pose no risk.
Residents can expect typical late-June weather for the region, with highs slightly above the normal of 24°C by the weekend.
