Hinton is preparing for a major community gathering as the town’s Canada Day celebration expands to two days at Gordon Moore Memorial Park. On June 30 and July 1, 2026 residents can enjoy live music, a drone show, a parade, a pancake breakfast, family activities, and food trucks, according to the Town of Hinton.
The festivities kick off on Tuesday, June 30 with a special drone show lighting up the night sky as part of a scheduled evening block from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The park, located at 761 Switzer Drive next to the Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Centre, will also host food trucks and a beer garden on both days.
On Canada Day itself, a pancake breakfast starts the morning. The annual parade, organized by the Hinton & District Chamber of Commerce, winds through town before crowds return to the park. A Canada Day cake ceremony, live entertainment from local bands including Ardour, vendor booths, and children’s activities round out the day.

Hinton sits about 81 kilometres northeast of Jasper on the Yellowhead Highway, with roughly 9,800 residents (2021 census). This marks the first Canada Day celebration under Mayor Brian LaBerge, who was elected in October 2025.
