The Stettler Public Library is inviting kids and teens to an action-packed Nerf war on June 26, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the library in Stettler, Alberta. The free event, called “Battle of the Library!”, will transform the library into a foam-dart battlefield for an evening of team-based fun, with pizza served for supper. Registration is required and can be done by calling 403-742-2292, but spaces are limited.
This year’s battle runs twice as long as past Nerf wars, which have been two-hour events in the past, and marks an early summer kickoff instead of the usual season-ending tradition. Library Manager Rhonda O’Neill says a previous event drew around 10 youth, who competed in creative games like capturing rubber chickens while classical music played in the background.
Residents of Stettler and the surrounding county can attend the event for free. The library offers no-cost memberships thanks to funding from town and county councils, allowing it to host programs like the Nerf war without charging families.
The battle comes just before the start of the library’s “Dive In” Summer Reading Program, an eight-week series of activities for ages 5 through 17 that launches on June 29. That program includes games, crafts, and science experiments, and the library has brought on Jasmine and August as summer coordinators to help run this year’s theme.
