Olds residents looking to get a head start on holiday shopping can mark their calendars for July 24 and 25, as the Christmas in July Market returns to the Future Ag Event Centre in Olds, Alberta. Organized by the Olds Regional Exhibition, the two-day event promises a mix of festive cheer and summer vibes, with local vendors selling handmade gifts, home decor, and fresh seasonal treats.
The market runs Friday evening from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and picks up again Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Shoppers can browse a wide range of products, including baked goods, canned foods, clothing, wood crafts, jewelry, fresh produce, and candy. It is a chance to support local artisans and small businesses while enjoying a unique summer spin on Christmas shopping.
Vendor applications are currently being accepted through an online form. Three types of spaces are available: a Table Space with an 8-foot table and no power for $70, a Power Space along the wall with a 10-by-10-foot area for $90, and an Outside Space without power for $80. The variety of options aims to accommodate sellers with different needs, whether they require electricity for their displays or simply want a spot to set up.
The venue, formerly known as the Cow Palace, was renamed the Future Ag Event Centre in November 2025 after a partnership between Olds Regional Exhibition and agricultural equipment dealer Future Ag Inc. The facility continues to host a range of community events year-round, including the popular Country Wonderland Market each November, which draws more than 2,300 visitors annually.
Olds Regional Exhibition, once called the Olds Agricultural Society, has been a cornerstone of the community since the 1890s. The Christmas in July Market is part of its effort to keep residents engaged throughout the year, offering another reason to gather and shop local in the heart of central Alberta.
