Aurora, Ontario is in for a warm and sunny start to July this week, with temperatures climbing into the high 20s and humidity making it feel even hotter. Environment Canada forecasts daytime highs between 26 and 29 degrees Celsius from July 6 to 11, 2026, with humidex values reaching the mid-30s.
The week begins with a mix of sun and cloud on Monday and a high of 28 degrees. Tuesday will see clearing skies, while Wednesday brings full sun and highs of 29, with humidex readings up to 35. A shift toward cloudier skies and a chance of showers is expected by Thursday and Friday.
Residents should take extra care under the sun, as the UV index is rated 9, or very high, through Tuesday. Health officials advise staying in the shade between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., wearing protective clothing and sunglasses, and using sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher. The humidex, which measures how hot it feels, will be in the 30s, a range that can cause some discomfort. Health officials recommend limiting outdoor exercise, especially for older adults, young children, and people with health conditions.
As of Monday afternoon, The Weather Network reported a temperature of 26 degrees in Aurora, feeling like 32 with the humidity. No heat warnings are in effect because conditions have not reached the threshold of 31 degrees during the day and 20 degrees overnight, or a humidex of 40, for two days in a row.
The warm weather aligns with the start of July, typically the warmest period in southern Ontario, when average highs sit around 26 degrees. With more than 60 parks, splash pads, and over 60 kilometres of trails, Aurora has many places to enjoy the sun while staying safe this week.
