Police are searching for a 40-year-old Clarington man after a 78-year-old resident was allegedly defrauded of more than $33,000 in a landscaping and home repair scam. Durham Regional Police have issued an arrest warrant for Christopher Alexander Graham, who is also wanted by five other Ontario police services on fraud charges.
Police say Graham befriended the senior over about a month and agreed to complete landscaping and repair work on the victim’s property. The victim paid more than $33,000, but the work was never done. The senior reported the incident to police in May 2026.
At the time of the alleged fraud, Graham was under court-ordered conditions not to seek or accept payment for any work until it was completed. He now faces several charges, including Fraud Over $5,000 and Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000.
Investigators believe Graham may have targeted other vulnerable or older individuals. Detectives from the East Division Criminal Investigations Branch are asking anyone with information to contact D/Cst. March at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1605.
