The Churchill Creative Collective has opened registration for a Photography Workshop led by local artist Daniel Raiti in Churchill, Manitoba. The workshop adds a structured learning opportunity to the collective’s regular programming of drop-ins and monthly events.
Raiti is an Australian-born photographer who has lived in Churchill for the past decade. He works across photography, printmaking, and tattooing, and is described by the Churchill Creative Collective as a talented local photographer, visual artist, tattooist, muralist, and valued volunteer.
The collective, incorporated in 2018 as a non-profit, offers Monday night drop-in sessions where local artists share skills, as well as monthly workshops, seasonal arts and food markets, and community events. The new workshop with Raiti is a ticketed addition now accepting participants through an online registration form available on the events and workshops page.
Churchill is a remote community of roughly 800 people on the coast of Hudson Bay. The creative collective has become a hub for arts programming aimed at community wellness and connection. Its mission is to engage and showcase local artists, crafters, and creative thinkers for the benefit of Churchill.
Raiti also works as a field staff photographer for a polar bear expedition company and was a supporter of the SeaWalls Churchill mural festival in 2017. Residents interested in learning from a recognized local creative can find the registration form on the collective’s website.
