Kids in Stettler will have a chance to learn baseball from Blue Jays Academy instructors when the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Academy holds a free youth clinic on July 17, 2026. The clinic, hosted by BGC Stettler – Heartland Youth Center, runs from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Stettler Sports Park, a central hub with four ball diamonds and plenty of seating for families.
The event is open to children aged 7 to 14 who are just starting out or have some basic experience on the diamond. No advanced skills are needed. It is not every day a Major League Baseball-affiliated program sends instructors to a town of about 5,800 people, so local families are being encouraged to sign up soon.
There is no cost to attend. The Blue Jays will provide each participant with a t-shirt and hat, and lunch is included. Organizers want to make sure money is not a barrier. If a child is not already a BGC member, the usual $20 membership fee can be waived for those who need it.
Registration is open now but must be completed online before July 10, 2026. Families can sign up through the online registration portal. The Stettler clinic is part of the Blue Jays Baseball Academy’s Alberta tour running from July 12 to 17, with stops in several other communities. The tour gives young players a rare shot at professional instruction right in their own backyard.
