Olds College of Agriculture & Technology in Olds, Alberta is holding its annual Career Fair on October 28, 2026 starting at 11:00 AM. The event connects students and local job seekers directly with employers looking to hire in agriculture, technology, trades, and related fields. It is open to students, alumni, employers, and anyone from the community who wants to explore career options.
Work Integrated Learning Coordinator Karen Correa organizes the fair as part of the college’s effort to link students with industry. “The Career Fair is part of the College’s ongoing commitment to connecting students with industry and supporting successful career outcomes,” Correa said after the last fair in February 2026. The February event was the largest the college has ever hosted, with 75 employers and more than 400 students attending the Alumni Centre and Learning Commons. Employers at that fair noted how prepared students were, bringing good questions and engaging in real conversations about jobs.
Graduates of Olds College have a 95 per cent employment rate within six months, and 94 per cent say they are satisfied with the quality of their education. That track record matters in a province where Alberta’s job market forecasts point to labour shortages in trades, transport, equipment operation, and natural and applied sciences. The fair gives job seekers a chance to talk directly with companies that need workers, from local farms to heavy-duty equipment dealers and agri-businesses.
Employers can connect with students year-round through CareerConnect, a career services platform launched in August 2025. The platform replaced the former OC Works system and lets companies post jobs and reach students more easily. Registrar and Director of Student Services Dillon Andrus has said CareerConnect creates meaningful ways for employers to meet their hiring needs while helping learners build their careers.
The college, which started in 1913 as the Olds School of Agriculture and Home Economics, now runs a 3,300-acre Smart Farm that serves as a living lab for agricultural technology.
