A section of Verne Bowen St. in Oshawa’s Kedron neighbourhood is closing to all through traffic starting July 20, 2026. The closure between Nancy Diamond Blvd. and Greentree Path will last until August 14, 2026, while crews connect services to a new development.
The 26-day closure means no through access for any vehicles, including emergency vehicles. Detour signs will be posted, and the city asks drivers to plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time.
The work comes amid rapid growth in North Oshawa. The city recently secured $3.2 million from the Ontario government for stormwater infrastructure to support about 1,800 new homes in the Kedron Part II Planning Area. This closure is part of that broader push to bring services to new residential construction.
