A 65-year-old Cambridge man is in custody and facing two criminal charges after police said he was caught peering into the windows of a home in south Cambridge on July 21, 2026.
Waterloo Regional Police officers were called to the Brierdale Road and Champlain Boulevard area around 10:50 p.m. after a resident reported seeing a man looking into their windows. Officers arrested the man at the scene.
He has been charged with criminal harassment and voyeurism. Police described the incident as targeted, not random.
By law, voyeurism covers secretly watching or recording someone where they have a reasonable expectation of privacy, and criminal harassment involves repeatedly following, watching, or communicating with a person in a way that causes them to fear for their safety. Voyeurism can carry up to five years in prison, while criminal harassment can lead to a maximum of 10 years behind bars if prosecuted by indictment.
