Dufferin OPP is warning residents in Orangeville and Shelburne, Ontario, after a series of vehicle break-ins on July 21, 2026, and reminding people to secure their vehicles and remove valuables.
During the early morning hours of July 21, police received reports of vehicles being entered in the Emerald Crossing community on Black Cherry Crescent in Shelburne. Suspects smashed vehicle windows and stole personal items, including credit cards, which were later used at a variety store in Orangeville.
Similar theft incidents were also reported in the area of Buena Vista Drive in Orangeville, police said.
Two South Asian male suspects are being sought. One is described as approximately 30 years old, 6 feet tall, with a heavy build, short black hair, a scruffy extended goatee, and large black-framed glasses. He was wearing a black and grey checkered dress shirt, blue jeans, and black shoes. The second suspect is about 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a black long-sleeved Reebok hoodie with a white logo on the chest and black pants.
The suspect vehicle is described as a newer-model white Volkswagen SUV, possibly a Volkswagen Tiguan.
