Orangeville residents can look forward to a stretch of sunny, warm weather this week, according to Environment Canada. After a cloudy Tuesday, conditions are expected to clear up, bringing ideal outdoor weather for the end of July and start of August.
Tuesday, July 28, will remain cloudy with a high of 23°C and a humidex of 30. The UV index is forecast to be 5, or moderate. But the sun should return on Wednesday, July 29, with mainly sunny skies and a high of 22°C. Wednesday also brings the week’s highest UV index of 8, which is considered very high. Residents are reminded to take sun safety precautions, especially between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., by wearing protective sunglasses, staying in the shade, and reapplying sunscreen every two hours.
Thursday, July 30, and Friday, July 31, will be sunny with highs of 25°C and 28°C respectively, making for pleasant summer days. Temperatures will be close to the seasonal normal high of 26°C for late July.
The weekend will see a shift, with cloudy skies on Saturday, August 1, and a high of 24°C. Sunday, August 2, brings a 40 per cent chance of showers and a high of 22°C. No weather alerts are currently in effect for the Orangeville area.
Dufferin County reminds residents that public cooling centres are available at recreation facilities during heat warnings, though none are expected this week with temperatures near normal.
