The Whitby Farmers’ Market has been named Best Farm Market in the 2026 Whitby Readers’ Choice Awards, taking home the Diamond prize. The award, voted on by residents, recognizes the market as a top spot for local food and handmade goods in the community.
The market runs two days a week at two locations. On Wednesdays, shoppers can visit Celebration Square at 405 Dundas Street West from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Saturdays, the market sets up in Brooklin at 3 Vipond Road from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Now in its 29th season, which began May 13 and runs through October 14, the market brings together dozens of local vendors. Visitors can find fresh produce, baked goods, Ontario wines, craft beer, flowers, honey, and handmade items from farmers, makers, and bakers across the region.
“Thank you for voting for us as your favourite Farmers’ Market,” the market said in a statement on its website. “We are truly grateful for your support of our hardworking farmers, makers and bakers.”
The Readers’ Choice Awards let residents pick their favourite local businesses each year, and the Diamond level is the highest recognition. The award highlights the market’s role as a community hub where people can support local growers and artisans while picking up weekly essentials.
