The town of Raymond, Alberta will host professional bull riding on August 19, 2026 at 6:30 PM at the new Raymond Rodeo Grounds. The event continues the community’s deep rodeo roots that go back more than a century.
The Raymond Rodeo Grounds opened in 2024 at 550 400 Street East, after the historic Victoria Park site was closed to make way for a new school. The modern facility seats about 750 people and includes upgraded horse pens, an announcer booth, and plenty of parking.
Raymond is known as the birthplace of organized rodeo in Canada. The first Raymond Stampede was held in 1902, predating the Calgary Stampede by ten years. That legacy continues with events like this professional bull riding showcase.
Earlier this summer, the 2026 Raymond Stampede on June 30 – July 1 drew top rodeo athletes competing for nearly $100,000 in prize money. Bull rider Dakota Buttar took the top spot with an 87-point ride. The August 19 event builds on that momentum, offering another evening of high-level competition.
