Non-profit groups in Carberry and the surrounding area have until September 15, 2026, at 4:00 pm to submit applications for the second round of community grants this year through the Carberry and Area Community Foundation.
The foundation serves the Town of Carberry and the Municipality of North Cypress-Langford and is currently accepting proposals for projects that preserve or improve quality of life. That can include work in agriculture, arts, culture, education, environment, health, heritage, recreation, and sports.
Applications are accepted online through a Google Forms portal or as a fillable PDF, both available at the foundation’s grant application page. The foundation has two intake periods each year: February 1 to March 15 and August 1 to September 15.
The foundation distributed more than $76,000 through 18 grants to local organizations in 2025. Those grants included $15,000 to the Brookdale Community Club for new flooring at its community centre and $10,000 to the Carberry Drop In Centre for its “Drop In, Sit Down, Enjoy” project. The Carberry Plains Museum received $6,000, and several other groups got funding for arts, recreation, and youth programs.
Earlier this year, the foundation held a Vital Conversation on Community Wellbeing at Carberry Collegiate to gather resident feedback that will help shape future grant decisions. It compared survey results from 2022 with fresh data from 2026 to understand where community needs are greatest.
