The Town of Westlock and community partners are inviting everyone to a free Indigenous cultural event on September 9, 2026 at the Canadian Tractor Museum, 9704 96 Avenue. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with activities running from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
The Truth and Reconciliation Community Event is organized by the Westlock Economic Region and community partners. It will include an Indigenous vendor market featuring local artisans and vendors, Indigenous-led cultural activities, free food, and a traditional teepee demonstration.
Attendees can explore the market, join in cultural activities, and learn more about the histories and cultures of Indigenous Peoples. Everyone is welcome to take part in an evening of learning, reflection, and community.
This is the fifth year the community has hosted such a gathering. Westlock has worked closely with the Alexander First Nation to keep the annual tradition going. The town sits within Treaty 6 territory, and the event acknowledges the enduring presence and contributions of Indigenous Peoples to the region.
The Canadian Tractor Museum is a non-profit site that preserves the area’s agricultural heritage, making it a fitting host for an event that honours both history and community.
