Durham Regional Police Central West Division is inviting residents to a free Community Safety Day at Brooklin Memorial Park on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The all-ages event will give families a chance to meet local officers and see specialized policing units up close. Displays and demonstrations will include the K9 unit, Tactical Support Unit, Drone Unit, Pipes & Drums, and the Marine & Traffic Unit.
According to the Durham Regional Police Service, the day is designed to be fun and inclusive. “This free community event is inclusive and fun for guests of all ages,” the service said in its announcement.
The event follows a similar Community Safety Day hosted by DRPS North Division earlier this year, which drew more than 600 attendees. The Central West Division, which polices Whitby and northern Oshawa, is led by Superintendent Rob Antaya and Inspector Janine Doyle.
Residents can find the event at the Luther Vipond Brooklin Memorial Arena and Brooklin Memorial Park, located at 67 Winchester Rd E in Whitby.
