The Stouffville Spirit will open their 2026-27 Ontario Junior Hockey League regular season at home against the Markham Royals on Thursday, September 10 at Stouffville Arena in Whitchurch-Stouffville. Game time is 7:30 p.m., the OJHL announced this week.
The Spirit’s home schedule for the new campaign includes 19 Saturday night games, six Thursday night contests, one Sunday matinee and a Christmas holiday matinee. Season tickets and single-game tickets are available through the Stouffville Spirit.
The home opener is the first regular season game at Stouffville Arena, located at 12483 Ninth Line, which features two ice pads.
Stouffville finished the 2024-25 season with a 33-19 record, reaching the second round of the playoffs under OJHL Coach of the Year TJ Hill. Hill led the Spirit to their best winning percentage in a decade.
The Markham Royals, based at Markham Centennial Centre, originated in Hamilton in 1973 as the Hamilton Red Wings and relocated to Markham in 2015.
The Spirit organization is led by General Manager Kenny Burrows and Head Coach TJ Hill, with assistant coaches Rob Ascenzi and Tom Plommer.
