Salt Spring Island residents can now register for fall recreation programs through the local parks and recreation department. Salt Spring Island Parks, Arts, Recreation & Culture (PARC) opened registration on August 12 for programs running from September through December 2026.
People can browse and sign up for arts, recreation, sports, fitness, and health activities online, in person at the Rainbow Recreation Centre at 262 Rainbow Road, or by calling 250.537.1402. The fall lineup includes swimming lessons, aquatic fitness classes, and a range of other programs for all ages and abilities.
The fall pool schedule starts August 30 and runs until December 19. Rainbow Recreation Centre has a 25-metre, six-lane swimming pool and a hot tub, with aquatic fitness classes offered six days a week. PARC also operates the Salt Spring Island Multi Space, known as SIMS, at 124 Rainbow Road, which hosts fitness classes, martial arts, gym sports, and roller skating.
PARC is the main recreation provider for Salt Spring Island, serving about 11,635 residents including many seniors. The Capital Regional District oversees the service along with the Salt Spring Island Local Community Commission, created in June 2023 after a community referendum.
