Registration for fall swim lessons at the Stettler Aquatic Centre opens September 1, 2026, giving parents a chance to sign their children up for water safety training as the season shifts.
The facility offers the Lifesaving Society’s Swim For Life program, which teaches front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, and survival skills like treading water and safe entries.
The Stettler Aquatic Centre is located at 6202-44 Avenue inside the Stettler Recreation Centre. Lessons follow the national curriculum used by about 1.2 million Canadians each year.
Youth 12 and older can also join the Leaders In Training program to learn aquatic skills alongside lifeguards and earn volunteer hours that can go toward swimming program fees. Starting in 2025, Alberta students can earn high school credits for completing lifesaving and lifeguard certification courses.
