The Carstairs Public Library is looking to hire a part-time Customer Service Staff member, with applications accepted by email at [email protected]. The position is now open at the library located at 1402 Scarlett Ranch Blvd in Carstairs, Alberta.
No closing date was provided, but the library is actively accepting applications for the role. The hiring comes as the library continues to see strong community use. In 2025, the library recorded 21,418 in-person visitors and 57,707 items borrowed, according to its annual report.
The library recently adopted a 2026-2031 strategic plan called Connect, Inspire, Grow. Library manager Megan Ginther and board chair Jen Awde said the plan reflects what residents value and need, with the biggest challenge being how to balance community growth while maintaining a small-town feel.
Carstairs had a population of about 5,248 in 2025, with a five-year growth rate of 12.44 percent, one of the highest in Alberta. The Carstairs Public Library is part of the Parkland Regional Library System, which supports 49 public libraries across central Alberta.
