Lethbridge residents can look forward to free events at Casa as part of Arts Days 2026, including an Indigenous fashion show and a community jingle dress project on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The Allied Arts Council of Lethbridge has posted the lineup for the month-long celebration, which runs September 4 to 30 during Alberta’s Month of the Artist.
The Indigenous Fashion Show is set for September 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rotary Square outside Casa. Presented in partnership with the Honouring Traditions Reconciliation Society, the show will feature four Indigenous artists, including father-daughter duo Conroy Obey and Nayana. Their collection celebrates Afro-Indigenous designs, connecting West African and Indigenous communities.
On September 30, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the Community Jingle Dress Project will run from 1 to 3 p.m. at Rotary Square. Local Indigenous artist and designer Serene Weasel Traveller will guide participants in collaboratively creating a jingle dress, sharing knowledge to ensure the process is culturally respectful and meaningful.
Both events are free and open to the public. They follow the final Upside Downtown summer concert, POP UP GET DOWN, scheduled for August 27 from 5 to 10 p.m. That event will feature three local bands and cap the sixth season of the free Thursday evening series on Rotary Square.
Casa is a 42,000-square-foot community arts centre at 230 8th Street South, managed by the Allied Arts Council of Lethbridge on behalf of the City of Lethbridge.
