Cochrane residents can expect smoother rides as the town begins a pulverize and pave project on September 8, 2026, aiming to improve road conditions across the municipality. The work includes concrete sidewalk and curb/gutter repairs in select areas.
As part of the project, Railway Street between 7th Avenue and 12th Avenue will be temporarily closed from Tuesday, September 8 to Friday, September 11, 2026. Motorists should plan for delays and follow detours during this period.
Road sections were chosen based on inspections, according to the Town of Cochrane. Properties impacted by the work will be restored at the discretion of the Manager of Infrastructure Services.
Residents may be blocked from using their driveway for 3 to 4 days if concrete is placed in front of their property. This is necessary to allow the concrete to cure properly.
The project continues Cochrane’s commitment to infrastructure maintenance. In August 2024, town council awarded an $884,000 contract to Villeneuve Construction for similar road work on multiple avenues.
