High Level, Alberta, is inviting residents to a new community event on September 10, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the High Level Sports Complex Curling Pad.
The “Get to Know You Night” offers a chance to discover local businesses, agencies, non-profits, and service groups, and to connect with resources available in the community.
Admission is by donation, with attendees asked to bring one non-perishable food item or $1 at the door. All donations will support the local food bank operated by the High Level Native Friendship Centre.
The event launches shortly after the sports complex was temporarily closed on September 2 due to structural concerns. Mayor Josh Lambert said safety comes first, and repairs were expected to be quick, with the worst-case scenario being a couple of weeks. The curling pad’s availability for this event indicates the facility is safe for use.
The gathering also fills a gap as summer day camps and outdoor programs wind down and fall activities begin. The High Level Curling Club, with about 150 members, is entering its busiest six months of the year.
