Wednesday will offer a break, with sunny skies and a high of 23°C. Thursday brings a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 percent chance of showers and a high of 24°C. Friday will be sunny again with a high of 20°C, but the evening will see increasing cloudiness and a low of 7°C, marking a definite shift toward cooler fall temperatures.

Pembroke’s forecast comes after a wetter-than-normal August for the Ottawa Valley, which saw between 175 and 200 percent of its usual rainfall. A severe thunderstorm on August 12 brought down trees and hydro poles and caused basement flooding in some areas.
