Starting March 9, 2026, the Regional Municipality of Durham will begin 24-hour construction along Kingston Road in Ajax, Ontario. The work involves installing new underground pipes as part of the regional bus service expansion.
The project will take place between Harwood Avenue and Galea Drive. Crews from KAPP Infrastructure will work continuously from 7 a.m. Monday until 7 a.m. Saturday each week through the end of April 2026.
Drivers should expect Kingston Road to be reduced to one lane in each direction during times when traffic is lighter. Residents and businesses nearby should expect noise and potential ground vibrations while heavy machinery is used to install the new sewer and water pipes.
This part of the transit project is being paid for in part by the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program. These upgrades are intended to help update local transit routes and improve travel for commuters.
