The Rotary Club of Ajax will host a special dinner in Ajax, Ontario, on July 23, 2026, to celebrate local high school students receiving financial help for their future studies. The Bursary Award Dinner will take place at the Parkland Retirement Residence to connect student recipients with the donors and community members who support them. This event serves as a way to show how local fundraising efforts provide practical help for families in the area.
Last year, the club provided bursaries to 14 graduating students to help them transition to college or university. This year’s bursary program is supported by major local events, including the Ajax Rotary Ribfest, which takes place from June 5 to June 7, 2026. Money raised from these community activities is used to fund educational support and other local initiatives.
Over the last 70 years, the club has donated more than $1 million to various causes, including $100,000 to the Ajax Public Library. These bursaries are often the final piece of funding students need to secure their spots in post-secondary programs. The upcoming dinner will feature students from local secondary schools and provide a platform to share their academic and community achievements.
