The Antigonish Garden Club is helping residents prepare for the spring planting season by hosting a free workshop on garden tool care and sharpening on April 20, 2026.
The session will take place from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the John Paul Centre, located at 308 Main Street in Antigonish. Annie Ferguson, co-owner of 100 Folk Farm and a founding member of the Scotsburn Community Food Forest, will lead the demonstration on how to maintain tools to ensure they work effectively and last longer.
The workshop is free for paid club members. For non-members, the cost is $10, which also provides club membership until September 2026. Interested participants should contact the club via email at [email protected] to RSVP.
Founded in 1983, the Antigonish Garden Club is a member of the Nova Scotia Association of Garden Clubs, a provincial organization that connects more than 60 garden clubs. The group holds regular meetings at the John Paul Centre on the third Monday of each month from September through June.
