Aurora residents who play tennis or pickleball can now check if courts are free before they even leave home. The Town of Aurora has launched a free LineChecks pilot program at Summit Park Tennis Courts and Thomas Coates Park Pickleball Courts for the 2026 season, providing real-time availability online.
The Town of Aurora says the system uses computer-vision technology to track how many courts are in use, without identifying anyone. It does not use facial recognition, record audio, or store personal information. Instead, it captures only anonymous occupancy counts to let players know if a court is open or busy, and shows estimated wait times.
Residents simply visit LineChecks.com to see the current status at Summit Park, which has two tennis courts at 267 Orchard Heights Blvd., or Thomas Coates Park, which offers two pickleball courts at 234 Mavrinac Blvd. Both parks are open from dawn until 11 p.m.
The pilot comes as demand for racquet sports keeps growing in Aurora. Pickleball in particular has surged in popularity, and a 2023 survey showed residents want more dedicated facilities. The town has already invested over $22.7 million in parks and recreation in 2025, with plans this year to open a new 8-court pickleball complex at Fleury Park.
