According to Environment Canada, the upcoming sunny conditions will bring daytime highs ranging from -6 C on Sunday to -1 C by Tuesday. While these temperatures are typical for early April, the return of consistent sunshine provides a welcome break after recent cold spells, such as the conditions recorded on Friday, April 3, which saw a wind chill of -24.
The clear weather is expected to extend into the evenings, though residents should prepare for chilly nights with temperatures forecast to drop between -15 C and -20 C. Despite the cold overnight lows, the sunny days offer ideal conditions for outdoor activities, including fishing on Great Slave Lake or traveling on the land.
Behchokǫ̀, located approximately 110 km northwest of Yellowknife, is the headquarters of the Tłı̨chǫ Government. As the largest Dene community in the Northwest Territories, the area provides residents with various ways to enjoy the outdoors, such as visiting North Arm Territorial Park, as the region begins its seasonal transition toward spring.
